Smoking Cessation
Smoking is related to a number of illnesses, most notably the increased risk of cancer, COPD, and heart disease. Many individuals find it difficult to quit smoking, partially because of the addictive properties of nicotine. Our clinic is now offering the Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients (STOP) Program, a smoking cessation program that can help you successfully overcome cravings and quit tobacco use.
What is it?
The Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients (STOP) program will provide cost-free Nicotine Replacement Therapy* and counselling sessions to help you quit smoking. This program is run at the Georgina Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic and is a partnership with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Speak with your Nurse Practitioner to see if you are eligible for this program.
*Not all types of Nicotine Replacement Therapy may be available at all times.
