The Ministry of Health in Ontario has clear guidance on COVID-19 vaccine medical exemptions. Cases where there is an acceptable reason for requesting medical exemption include the following:
- The patient has an allergist/immunologist-confirmed severe allergy or anaphylactic reaction to a previous dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or to any of its components that cannot be mitigated
- The patient has a diagnosed episode of myocarditis/pericarditis after receipt of an mRNA vaccine.
Please speak with your Nurse Practitioner if you have any questions.
